MediaPro is pleased to announce its first ever live Twitter “tweet chat” to recognize Data Privacy Day on Thursday, Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., PST.
A tweet chat is a live Twitter discussion, moderated and focused around a single, general topic. A specific hashtag is used, in this case #MediaProChat, to filter all the tweets discussing the topic into a single discussion.
Tweet chats provide a chance to network and grow your circle (and knowledge!) through shared interests. It’s a great opportunity to discover useful tools, tips, and people whom you might not have otherwise connected with.

For MediaPro’s Data Privacy Day tweet chat, the topic will be CISA, or the “Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act,” and its recent passage into law. CISA is the much-discussed data-sharing law with both fierce advocates and opponents in the privacy space.
The stated goal of CISA is to facilitate the voluntary transfer of cybersecurity-related information between private companies and the federal government through online portals designed for this purpose. The idea is to help make companies more secure by allowing information on a cyber threat experienced by one company to be easily shared with the federal government and, in turn, with other similar companies.
Proponents say CISA will lead to enhanced cybersecurity for companies of all types, while opponents claim it’s a thinly veiled government surveillance law with insufficient protections for personal privacy.
